Job Description: Front Counter / Retail

Located in the heart of Pleasure Point, Original Sin Desserts is a Bakery Café with a commitment to providing our customers with delicious sweet and savory selections. We make our food from scratch using all natural, and often local, organic ingredients. Our pride in our food shows, and we work hard to give our customers great quality at an affordable price. We are looking for enthusiastic and hard working people to join our team. Bakery Café experience is not required, but a positive attitude is mandatory.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for all retail duties and customer interactions. These include: brewing coffee, ringing up customer sales, answering phone calls, maintaining a clean retail area, and opening/closing duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Brew Coffee & Hot Water for Self-Serve Bar.
• Answer customer questions: such as item ingredients, preparation method, price, availability, etc.
• Retrieve customer's bakery/deli items from display case and/or assist customer with self-serve cases.
• Box and/or package customer sales.
• Ring up customer sales on POS system.
• Answer telephone & take messages as needed.
• Re-stock self-serve coffee bar, grab-n-go cases, paper items.
• Maintain clean and orderly retail area (back counter, self-serve areas, restroom).
• Starting shift: Lights on, brew coffee & set up bar, assist kitchen staff with stocking of pastry/deli cases, cleaning as needed, set up cash register and open POS, etc.
• Ending shift: Dismantle coffee bar, clean out coffee makers, clean back counter, pastry/deli items to overnight storage, clean & cover pastry cases, wipe down retail counters, run end-of shift reports on POS, cash drawer to office safe, lights off, etc.

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Minimum Education: High School diploma or GED
• Minimum Experience: Minimum 2 years work experience, preferably in retail
• Skills Required:
  • Must have positive attitude, integrity, and strong work ethic
  • Must read, write and speak English
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds
